Step 9: Mask
About twice a week at night, I apply a face mask after I’ve cleansed and toned my face, and leave it overnight. When I do apply a mask I jump straight from step 5 (toner) to this step, and skip the rest. In essence, I remove make-up (steps 1 and 2) cleanse my face (step 3) add a toner (step 5) and then apply a mask, and wash it off in the morning. I use Dior’s Hydra Life Beauty Awakening Rehydrating Mask. This product is like a treat to the skin, because you wake up in the morning feeling deeply re-hydrated and radiant, and looking amazingly silky.
These 9 steps are really simple to apply and are worth doing to really leave your skin feeling reinvigorated and youthful. I know that sometimes it can be super boring to do this, but once you overcome that initial laziness, and establish a routine, you will complete your skincare routine almost automatically! As you can probably tell, I am a Dior girl, and whereas other brands are equally as effective and feel great on my skin (such as the Givenchy Hydra-Sparkling line), Dior Hydra Life has really implemented a youthfulness to my skin, making it feel and look great; so at the moment I’m sticking with it. I understand these products can be relatively expensive, however I am an advocate for investing in skincare (as well as makeup). If you start looking after your skin at a young age, it will age as gracefully and slowly as your inner-self and you can perpetuate that flawless look.
If you are looking for less expensive alternatives, let me know on the comments section below, and I’ll get back to you. Equally, if you need my review/opinion on a specific product before you buy it, let me know!

Mine is really simple. Just moisturiser, cleansing water and I also use Black African soap which does wonders for the skin

Great Tips!
I try to include serum and hydrating mask in my regime as I have dry skin. Can’t say the same about the eye cream though!

Sure! I have one from Clinique and another one from Forest Essentials, but somehow I am not regular with it.

This is a great post. I definitely need to be giving my skin a bit more attention I am noticing the difference as I get older. I love Dior make up but have never tried their skin care, I think I may have to put a few items on my Christmas list! X

Hi GIACD! I love that you are informing ladies that its important for each step. My favorite step that I pay extra special attention is exfoliation. I find it does the most benefit to my skin. Do you not find Dior too perfumey?

I enjoy a slight scent in my face products so no, not too perfumey for me! Do you think it’s fragrance is too strong?

The day & night regimen that I used was too perfumey for me, but that’s the beauty of skincare, no two preferences are the same.

Aww, serum is all I need. My skin is HYPER sensitive (it even reacts to aloe vera, can you believe it), so I have a particularly hard time shopping beauty products that won’t kill it… and I never found a serum that works. I tried mostly Korean brands though, more than Western brands that may match my skin better. Anything to recommend to start?
Also I never got the ‘courage’ to try an overnight mask, isn’t that unconfortable?

Clinique has a great range of products for sensitive skin, they dont even have a fragrance, to accommodate for that! You could also try a pharmacy brand like Lierac!
This mask is very very light, it feels like a moisturiser so it doesn’t feel sticky or oily or unfconfortable at all!

I’ll check Lierac out, thank you! The mask also sounds appealing!
