Miu Miu

A very ominous feeling collection. This season, a Miu Miu girl will be wearing the darkest lips, in combination with oversized coats and unguarded colour and print juxtapostions. A very luxuriously fun mashup of looks was seen.

Key take-home message: Have fun with your clothes, and make people want to know more about who you are and where you’re going.

Iris van Herpen

van Herpen adopted 3D printing in her designs, and brought a technological feel to her clothes this season. Her outfits are very wearable, and flattering in many body types. The colour palette revolves around metallic hues, which goes in line with what a lot of designers have been showing this season.

Key take-home message: Embrace metallic colours come summer

Moncler Gamme Rouge

Definitely another one of my favourites! Very wearable, very chic, very romantic, and very feminine. I love the silhouettes the designer (Giambattista Valli) created this season. There was a sweetness and delicacy that translates very well intro Spring/Summer. To counterbalance this feminine hallmark, metallic hues and asymmetric jackets were introduced.

Key take-home message: Embrace the sweetness of spring florals and wear it on your clothes.

Louis Vuitton

A collection made for the cool edgy girls. The collection was introduced as “A journey to the frontiers of the digital era” – which is exactly what we were given! It was romantic and tough at the same time; it was urban, poweful, and fresh; exactly what we needed. Not for your everyday girl, but then again, neither is Louis Vuitton

Key take-home message: Inspire yourself in a video-game heroin to obtain an intergalactic urban punk look.

Alas, after four, rather fast-paced, extravagant weeks, fashion month is over… 💔

If you have been following fashion month (be it through my posts or in person) you are likely to experience some #FashionWeek withdrawal symptoms in the next couple of days. – Symptoms include: constantly refreshing Instagram to see if any collection sneak-peaks are posted, and scrolling through all fashion magazines to see if you missed something!

If that is the case, don’t worry, it is a perfectly normal syndrome which many fashionistas encounter…and of course, I have just the cure for it!

Follow these 4 simple steps and you’ll overcome your #FashionWeekBlues just in time for the weekend:

  1. Go shopping – retail therapy will help you feel good about yourself and the new clothes will distract you from FW
  2. Go on a fun Girl’s Night Out and wear those new shoes you bought the other day 😍
  3. Watch back-to-back episodes of your favourite show, with a cup of green tea on one hand and popcorn on the other…this will surely help keep your mind off things!
  4. And last but certainly not least, patiently await next season, keeping in mind it’s gonna be filled with covetable Autumn/Winter surprises!

If you followed me in this journey through fashion month, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did, and encourage you to leave a comment below so we can discuss your must-have collections and the ones you could live without!

If you haven’t been following my progress through fashion week, please feel free to have a read at my earlier posts to find out what the buzz was all about; and of course let me know what you thought of this season’s collections!

💋

As always, I bid you adieu with a quote..

“He who contemplates the depths of Paris is seized with vertigo.Nothing is more fantastic. Nothing is more tragic.Nothing is more sublime.” ― Victor Hugo

Love,

Mimi ♡
